The annual inflation rate in Hungary rose to 1.6% in September 2026 from 1.3% in the previous month, marking the highest reading since June.

Inflation also continued to rise for consumer durables (1.2% vs 1.5%) and services (4.9% vs 5%).

On a monthly basis, consumer prices increased by 0.2% in September, the same pace as in the preceding period.

Meanwhile, the annual core inflation rate, which excludes volatile items such as food and energy, edged lower to 1.9% from 2% in the prior month.
