Greece Jobless Rate at 9-Month High

Greece’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate rose to 9% in March 2026, following an upwardly revised 8.6% gain in the previous month.
This marked the highest reading in nine months, as the number of unemployed individuals increased by 19.1 thousand month-on-month, bringing the total to 436.1 thousand.
Unemployment among women remained significantly higher than among men, standing at 11.5% compared to 6.9%.
Meanwhile the number of people outside the labour force, those under 75 who are neither employed nor seeking work, decreased by 26.9 thousand to 2,876.8 thousand.
On the other hand, employment rose by 3.7 thousand, lifting the total number of employed individuals to around 4,412.4 thousand.
