Greece Producer Inflation Highest Since 2022

Producer prices in Greece rose 14.9% year-on-year in August 2026, accelerating from 11.8% in the previous month and reaching its highest level since December 2022.

Costs rose for intermediate goods (7.9% vs 7.0% in July), durable consumer goods (2.0% vs 1.3%), and energy (28.5% vs 21.5%).

Conversely, price growth eased for capital goods (4.0% vs 4.5%) and non-durable consumer goods (1.4% vs 1.7%).

By market, producer prices for the domestic market rose 8.9%, up from 7.0% in July, while those for the non-domestic market climbed 29.7% from 23.4%.

On a monthly basis, producer prices fell 0.6%, reversing a 0.2% increase in the previous month.

Producer prices in Greece rose 11.8% year-on-year in July 2026, accelerating from 8.8% in the previous month. Prices increased at a faster pace across most major industrial groupings, namely energy (21.5% vs 15.5% in June), intermediate goods (7.0% vs 6.4%), capital goods (4.5% vs 3.6%), and non-durable consumer goods (1.7% vs 1.1%). In contrast, prices eased for durable consumer goods (1.3% vs 2.2%). By market, producer prices for the domestic market rose 7%, while those for the non-domestic market climbed 23.4%. On a monthly basis, producer prices rose 0.2%, rebounding from a 3% decline in the previous month.

Greece Producer Inflation Slows in June
Producer prices in Greece increased 8.8% year-on-year in June 2026, easing from a 13.5% rise in the previous month. The slowdown was driven mainly by a sharp deceleration in energy prices (15.5% vs 26.4%) and softer inflation for non-durable consumer goods (1.1% vs 1.6%). In contrast, price pressures strengthened for intermediate goods (6.4% vs 6.1%), capital goods (3.6% vs 3.4%), and durable consumer goods (2.2% vs 2.1%). On a monthly basis, producer prices fell 3% in June, following a 0.9% decline in May.
