Greece Construction Output Accelerates in Q1

Construction output in Greece increased by 16.5% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2026, following a 3.0% growth in the previous quarter.
This marked the strongest pace of expansion in construction activity since the fourth quarter of 2024, as overall output rose notably in specialised construction activities, accelerating to 22.3% from 11.4% in Q4 2025.
At the same time, activity in civil engineering rebounded, increasing by 6.7% after previously recording a sharp decline of 15.0%.
Meanwhile, output in residential and non-residential building construction eased slightly, coming in at 19.2% compared with 20.2% in the prior quarter.
On a quarterly basis, construction output fell by 44.6% in Q1, sharply reversing from a 51.7% surge in the preceding period.
