Georgia Q1 Jobless Rate Drops to 14.4%

The unemployment rate in Georgia fell to 14.4% in the first quarter of 2026 from 14.7% in the corresponding period of the previous year.
The number of unemployed persons dropped by 9.4 thousand year-on-year to 230 thousand.
The jobless rate for women increased to 12.1% from 11.6% in Q1 2025, while the rate for men slipped to 16.2% from 17%.
Meanwhile, the unemployment rate moderated by 1 percentage point to 45.7% from 46.7% a year earlier, as the number of employed persons decreased by 25 thousand to 1,369.2 thousand.
Additionally, the labour force participation rate fell to 53.4% from 54.8%.
