Gambia Balance of Trade

Gambia’s systemic trade deficit is the result of the country’s weak export stance. Re-exports represent over 80 percent of total exports. Gambia is a net importer of fuel and foodstuffs. Gambia exports are: peanuts, fish and cotton. Gambia’s main trading partners are: China (15 percent of exports and 10 percent of exports), United Kingdom and India.
