Cyprus Industrial Output Growth Steady in June

Industrial production in Cyprus edged up 0.3% year-on-year in June 2026, unchanged from the previous month and remaining at its lowest level since February.

Manufacturing output rose 0.6% (vs 0.5% in May), driven particularly by wood and cork products, except furniture (2.3% vs 1.2%), rubber and plastic products (4.7% vs -2.4%), basic metals and fabricated metal products (2.3% vs 1.1%), and non-metallic mineral products (7.5% vs 4.9%).

Meanwhile, growth accelerated in water supply and materials recovery (1.5% vs -3.9%), as well as water collection, treatment and supply (14.2% vs 10.2%).

Electricity supply fell 4% after stagnating in the previous month, while the decline in materials recovery eased (-15.1% vs -20.7%).

In January-June, industrial output grew 1.2% compared with the corresponding period of the previous year.

Industrial production in Cyprus inched up 0.5% year-on-year in May 2026, slowing from an upwardly revised 1.9% increase in the previous month. The deceleration reflected weaker activity across mining and quarrying (0.5% vs 4.5% in April), manufacturing (0.8% vs 0.9%), mainly due to slower output of basic metals and fabricated metal products, electricity supply (0.0% vs 8.3%), and water collection, treatment and supply (10.1% vs 15.2%). Meanwhile, water supply reversed into contraction (-3.4% vs 4.3%), while materials recovery remained in decline, with output falling at a steeper pace (-19.6% vs -9.1%). For the January-May period, industrial output grew 1.5% compared with the corresponding period of the previous year.

Cyprus Industrial Output Growth Slows in April
Industrial production in Cyprus increased by 1.4% year-on-year in April 2026, slowing from an upwardly revised 4.9% increase in the previous month. This marked the lowest increase since October 2024. The moderation was driven by slower growth in mining and quarrying (4.5% vs 9.2% in March), manufacturing (0.6% vs 3.1%), and electricity supply (6.9% vs 19.0%). Meanwhile, water collection, treatment and supply accelerated (15.4% vs 13.9%), while water supply and materials recovery edged higher (4.4% vs 4.1%). Separately, materials recovery remained in contraction, with output falling at a steeper pace (-9.1% vs -7.1%). For the January-April period, industrial output grew 1.6% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
