Armenia Economic Activity Growth at 11-Month Low

Armenia’s economic activity rose by 6.6% year-on-year in March 2026, slowing from a 7.2% increase in the previous month, marking the lowest level since April 2025.

Growth eased for industrial output (7.0% vs 23.8% in February) and trade turnover (0.2% vs 5.6%).

In contrast, construction activity continued to gain traction, accelerating to 24.0% from 21.8%, while services also picked up, expanding 7.8% compared with 7.0% in the prior month.

On a monthly basis, overall economic activity increased by 11.6%, following a 4.6% rise in February.

In the January-March period, Armenia’s economic activity was 7.1% higher than in the same period last year.

Armenia’s economic activity rose by 7.2% year-on-year in February 2026, slowing from a 7.6% increase in the previous month. The slowdown was driven by a softer rise in the services sector, excluding trade (7.0% vs 7.4% in January). Meanwhile, industrial output accelerated (23.8% vs 10.6%), alongside gains in construction activity (21.8% vs 18.7%) and trade turnover (5.6% vs 0.7%). On a monthly basis, overall economic activity rebounded by 4.5%, following a 48.3% plunge in January. In the January-February period, Armenia’s economic activity was 7.4% higher than in the same period last year.

Armenia Economic Activity Growth Eases in January
Armenia’s economic activity rose by 7.6% year-on-year in January 2026, moderating sharply from a 14.4% rise in the previous month, marking the lowest level in nine months. Industrial output eased (10.6% vs 38.6% in December 2025), while construction activity (18.7% vs 20.5%) and trade turnover (0.7% vs 3.2%) also decreased. Meanwhile, services recorded growth (7.4% vs 6.9%). On a monthly basis, overall economic activity plunged 48.3%, reversing a 23.4% rise in December. For comparison, economic activity in Armenia stood at 7.3% last year.
