Argentina Inflation Eases to Lowest in Over 2 Years

Consumer prices in Argentina rose by 4% in July 2024 from the previous month, easing from the 4.6% increase in June, marking the softest rise since January 2022, and inline market forecasts.
Accelerated price growth was observed in housing and utilities (6% vs. 2.5% in June), health (5.8% vs. 4.7%),food and non-alcoholic beverages (3.2% vs. 3%), and restaurants and hotels (6.45 vs. 6.3%).
Conversely, price increases slowed for transportation (2.6% vs. 3.9%), communication (3.5% vs. 5.3%), education (4.2% vs. 5.7%), and clothing and footwear (1.6% vs. 2.7%).
Annually, consumer prices surged by 263.4% in July, marking the third month of disinflation after eleven consecutive months of increases, easing from 271.5% in the previous month and aligning with expectations.
