Uruguay Inflation Accelerates in April

Uruguay’s annual inflation rose to 3.2% in April 2026 from 2.9% in the previous month.
The strongest price increases were seen in education (7.1%), restaurants and lodging (7.1%), personal care and social security (5.3%), utilities (4.5%), information and communication (3.7%), alcoholic beverages and tobacco (3.4%), and insurance and financial services (3.2%), while prices fell for clothing and footwear (-4.7%).
On a monthly basis, inflation picked up to 0.54% from 0.41% in March.
