Togo Balance of Trade
Togo’s trade deficit is the result of large oil and natural gas imports to satisfy energy needs. Togo is a net exporter of coffee, cocoa, maize and cotton. In recent years, export of limestone, marble and phosphate has been gradually increasing. Togo’s main trading partner is China (15 percent of total imports and 10 percent of exports) followed by Burkina Faso, Niger and France.
