STI Rebounds to Record High Around Noon

2026-07-27 06:47 By Chusnul Chotimah 1 min. read

Singapore's stocks climbed 20 points, or 0.4%, to 5,609 around noon on Monday, reversing morning weakness, extending gains from the previous session, and hitting a record high, as easing oil prices offset the negative sentiment from the MAS's monetary policy tightening.

The broader index tracked a rally in US futures due to easing Middle East tensions after the US paused strikes on Iran, while traders braced for big tech earnings.

However, traders remained cautious ahead of the Fed's monetary policy decision and China's PMI data due this week.

Fresh economic data also limited the gains, as Singapore's manufacturing output grew at the slowest pace since February.

Health technology led the gains, followed by non-energy minerals and technology services.

Financial stocks also traded in positive territory.

Among the gainers were Hongkong Land (2.2%), Singapore Airlines (2.0%), UOL Group (1.2%), Jardine Cycle & Carriage (1.0%), UOB (0.8%), and Singapore Telecommunications (0.7%).
