Saudi Arabia Industrial Output Eases in February

Industrial production in Saudi Arabia rose 8.9% year-on-year in February 2026, slowing from a more than three-year high of 10.8% in the previous month.

Growth in oil activities moderated (11.5% vs 13.2% in January), weighed down by slower output in coke and refined petroleum products (5.2% vs 13.0%) and in crude petroleum and natural gas extraction (13% vs 13.3%).

Non-oil sectors also decelerated (2.4% vs 4.9%), led by manufacturing (2.8% vs 4.2%) and water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation services (8.1% vs 11.8%), while electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning supply declined (-3.7% vs 10.2%).

On a monthly basis, industrial activity fell 0.2%, after a 0.5% drop in the previous month.

Saudi Arabia Industrial Activity Shows Solid Growth
Industrial production in Saudi Arabia climbed by 10.4% year-on-year in January 2026, following an upwardly revised 10.1% surge in the previous month. This marked the strongest growth since October 2022, bolstered by higher output in mining and quarrying (+13.3%). Saudi Arabia increased its oil production to 10.1 million barrels per day in January 2026 compared to 8.9 million barrels per day in January 2025. Manufacturing activity also advanced at a solid 6.8%, driven by notable gains in the manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products (+9.1%); chemicals and chemical products (+10.6%) and food products (+9.1%). Conversely, output declined by 1.3% for water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation activities. On a monthly basis, industrial activity fell by 0.5% in January, after a revised 1.1% increase in the prior month.

Industrial production in Saudi Arabia rose by 8.9% year-on-year in December 2025, easing from a three-year high of 10.4% in the previous month. Growth in oil activities slowed (10.1% vs 12.9% in November), as output of coke and refined petroleum products tumbled (-3.6% vs 14.5%), offsetting stronger gains in the extraction of crude petroleum and natural gas (13.2% vs 12.6%). Meanwhile, non-oil activities expanded at a faster pace (5.8% vs 4.4%), despite a moderation in manufacturing output (3.2% vs 8.1%) and in water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation activities (9.4% vs 10.2%). In addition, the decline in electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning supply eased (-2.5% vs -4.3%) moderated. On a monthly basis, industrial activity fell 0.1%, notably improving from an upwardly revised 1.3% drop in November 2025.
