Rwanda Producer Prices Rise the Least in 5 Months

Producer prices in Rwanda climbed 3.4% year-on-year in November 2025, slowing from a 6.8% rise in October and marking the twelfth consecutive month of producer inflation. It was also the softest annual increase since April, due to a sharp slowdown in manufacturing prices (1.9% vs 6.2% in October). Meanwhile, mining and quarrying prices accelerated (5.6% vs 0.8%), while price growth in the electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply sector remained steady at 34.8%. On the other hand, prices in water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation activities were unchanged. On a month-on-month basis, producer prices rose 0.2% in November, rebounding from a 0.8% drop in October.

Producer prices in Rwanda increased 6.8% year-on-year in October 2025, slowing from a 13.5% rise in September and marking the eleventh consecutive month of producer inflation. It was also the softest annual increase since May, as manufacturing prices (6.2% vs 14.5% in September) and mining and quarrying (0.8% vs 1.0%) both advanced more slowly. Meanwhile, price growth in the electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply sector remained steady at 34.8%. In contrast, prices in water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation activities were unchanged. On a monthly basis, producer prices fell 0.8% in October, reversing a 2.5% rise in September, which was the fastest increase in four months.

Producer prices in Rwanda rose 13.5% year-on-year in September 2025, accelerating from an 11.0% increase in August and marking the tenth consecutive month of producer inflation. It was also the fastest annual increase since February 2024, as manufacturing prices grew at a faster pace (14.5% vs 11.5% in August). Meanwhile, prices in mining and quarrying rose slightly slower (1.0% vs 1.1%), while electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply prices surged 34.8%, the same pace as in August. In contrast, prices in water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation activities were unchanged. On a monthly basis, producer prices rose 2.5% in September, rebounding from a 0.3% decline in August and marking the fastest increase in four months.
