Qatar’s central bank raised its key interest rate by 25 bps to 4.60% in September 2026, mirroring the Federal Reserve’s decision.
The move followed the Fed’s announcement that it would raise the target range for the federal funds rate by 25 bps to 3.75%-4%, while a majority of FOMC members projected another hike this year.
Qatar’s monetary policy typically aligns with that of the Fed due to the Qatari riyal’s peg to the US dollar.
Additionally, the central bank raised its deposit and repo rates by 25 bps to 4.10% and 4.35%, respectively.
