Qatar GDP Annual Growth Rate at 0.60 percent  
Qatar's economy grew only 0.6 percent year-on-year in the second quarter of 2017, following a 2.5% expansion in the previous period. It was the lowest rate since 2009 global crisis, as the mining and quarrying sector shrank 2.7% as a result of a cut in output in December 2016; and sanctions imposed by Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt disrupted transport links. Non-oil growth eased 3.9% from 4.9% in the first quarter. The output rose slower for construction (15.3% from 15.7%); and financial and insurance activities (4.8% from 10.1%), while it was flat for manufacturing (-1.4% in Q1). On a quarterly basis, the economy grew 0.5%.

Qatar Inflation Rate at 0.20 percent  
Qatar's consumer prices increased 0.2 percent year-on-year in October of 2017, recovering from a 0.5 percent decline in the previous month. Prices rose faster for transport (7.8 percent vs 6.1 percent in September) and food and beverages (4.9 percent vs 3.6 percent) while were flat for restaurants and hotels (from -1 percent). In addition, cost fell less for recreation and culture (-2 percent vs -4.5 percent) and furniture and household equipment (-0.3 percent vs -0.6 percent). Meanwhile, prices continued to sink for miscellaneous goods and services (-1.1 percent vs -0.8 percent) and housing and utilities (-5.4 percent vs -4.7 percent), particularly hit by property market's slide caused by economic sanctions imposed by other Arab states. On a monthly basis, consumer prices went up 0.3 percent compared to a 0.1 percent increase in September.
