Paraguay Inflation Rate Accelerates in December

Paraguay's annual inflation rate accelerated to 3.8% in December 2024, up from 3.4% in the previous month, rebounding from the lowest reading since February.
Key contributors to the increase included price increases in food and non-alcoholic beverages (5.29% vs 4.78% in November) and housing and utilities (1.82% vs 1.7%), recreation and culture (5.64% vs. 4.9%), and transportation (2.34% vs 1.6%).
However, costs rose at a slower pace in restaurants and hotels (5.08% vs 5.3%), furniture (2.34% vs 2.38%), clothing and footwear (2.27% vs 2.5%), health (2.98% vs 3.4%), and education (3.96% vs 4.0%).
On a monthly basis, consumer prices in Paraguay rose 0.7% in December, after a 0.2% increase in the previous month.
