North Macedonia Jobless Rate Falls to 11.5% in Q3

The unemployment rate in North Macedonia dropped to 11.5% in the third quarter of 2025 from 12.3% in the corresponding period of the previous year.

The number of unemployed persons decreased by 6.7% year-on-year to 91.8 thousand.

Meanwhile, employment went up to 46.5% from 46.1%, with the number of employed individuals rising by 6.8 thousand to 705.2 thousand.

The labor force participation rate ticked down to 52.5% from 52.6% a year ago.

The jobless rate was unchanged from 11.5% in the second quarter of 2025.

Meanwhile, employment increased to 46.2% from 45.6%, with the number of employed individuals rising by 9.6 thousand to 701.4 thousand. The labor force participation rate edged up to 52.2% from 52.1% in the previous year.

The unemployment rate in North Macedonia declined to 11.7% in the first quarter of 2025 from 12.9% in the same period last year. This marked the lowest jobless rate on record, as the number of unemployed persons dropped by 9.0 thousand to 92.6 thousand. Meanwhile, the employment rate increased to 46.3% from 45.4%, with the number of employed individuals rising by 15.1 thousand to 702.4 thousand. The labor force participation rate ticked up to 52.4% from 52.1% a year ago.
