On a monthly basis, consumer prices went up 0.3 percent, following a 0.3 percent fall in July.

The economy of Macedonia advanced 3.1 percent year-on-year in the three months to June of 2018, up from a 0.1 percent growth in the previous period. It was the strongest pace of expansion since gross domestic product contracted by 1.3 percent in the second quarter of 2017. Government expenditure advanced 1 percent, compared to a 1.4 percent drop in the first quarter of 2018. Additionally, net trade contributed positively to growth, as exports rose 13.7 percent (10.6 percent in Q1) and imports went up only 4 percent (5.1 percent in Q1). On the other hand, output slowed for household consumption (2 percent from 2.3 percent) and continued to decrease for fixed investment (-11.3 percent from -9 percent).
