Macedonia’s current account deficit widened to USD 308.50 million in the second quarter of 2026, from USD 216.95 million in the corresponding period a year earlier.
This was mainly due to a larger goods trade deficit, which increased to USD 1,027.93 million from USD 849.04 million.
The primary income deficit also widened to USD 261.89 million from USD 229.98 million.
On the other hand, the services account surplus increased to USD 300.25 million from USD 222.54 million, while the secondary income surplus rose to USD 681.07 million from USD 639.52 million.
