The annual inflation rate in Kazakhstan eased to 9.3% in September 2026 from 9.8% in August, marking the lowest reading since January 2025.
Food inflation slowed to 8.5% from 9.5% in August, mainly due to softer price increases for meat and poultry (10.2% vs 12.9%), sausages and meat products (13.2% vs 14.3%), and oils and fats (8.6% vs 9.6%).
Non-food inflation also eased to 11.0% from 11.4%, as a slower rise in petrol prices (10.1% vs 12.8%) more than offset faster price increases for clothing (10.6% vs 10.2%).
Meanwhile, paid services inflation held steady at 8.9%, with housing and utilities inflation unchanged at 6.3%, while price increases slowed for housing maintenance and servicing (5.2% vs 5.6%) and picked up slightly for maintenance, repair and security of residential premises (13.3% vs 13.1%).
On a monthly basis, consumer prices increased 0.6%, matching the pace seen in the previous two months.
