Kazakhstan’s industrial production rose by 0.1% year-on-year in July 2026, easing sharply from an 8.2% jump in the previous month.
This marked the lowest reading in six months, as growth slowed in the manufacturing industry to 4.2% from 13.7%.
At the same time, activity fell in mining and quarrying, declining 7.1% after a 1.8% rise in June, driven largely by decreases in crude oil production (91.1% vs 91.6%) and natural gas production (94.5% vs 95.9%).
In contrast, production increased in electricity, gas, steam, hot water, and air-conditioning, rising to 22.7% from 16.9%, while activity rebounded in water supply, water drainage, waste collection, treatment, and disposal, and pollution abatement services, to 7.8% from a 1.3% drop a month earlier.
In the January–July period, industrial production rose by 3.0% compared with the same period a year earlier.
