Hungary Retail Sales Growth at 6-Month High

Retail sales in Hungary increased by 3.1% year-on-year in October 2025, following a 3% rise in the previous month.
This marked the strongest growth in retail activity since April, mainly driven by non-food products, which climbed 5.2% to a six-month high from 3.5% in September, supported by higher sales of textiles, clothing and footwear, miscellaneous industrial goods, and pharmaceuticals, medical products, and perfumes.
Additionally, trade picked up for automotive fuel (0.6% vs 0.5%).
In contrast, sales growth moderated for food and food related products (1.2% vs 3%).
On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, retail activity rose by 0.5% in October, after a flat reading in the preceding period.
