The economy of Honduras grew 3.1 percent year-on-year in September 2018, slowing from a 3.9 percent increase in the previous month. It was the weakest expansion since March, amid slowdowns in manufacturing (2.3 percent vs 3.9 percent in August); mining & quarrying (3.4 percent vs 7.2 percent); transportation & storage (1.1 percent vs 6.7 percent); communications (3.4 percent vs 4.4 percent) and finance & insurance (4.2 percent vs 6.5 percent). In contrast, faster rises were seen in agriculture (4.7 percent vs 2.8 percent); utilities (5.4 percent vs 5.0 percent); construction (5.5 percent vs 3.4 percent) and restaurants & hotels (7.4 percent vs 3.3 percent).
