Greece Current Account Deficit Shrinks in September

Greece’s current account deficit narrowed to EUR 0.4 billion in September 2025 from 0.5 billion in the corresponding month of the previous year.
The goods deficit shrank to EUR 2.7 billion from EUR 3.1 billion.
At the same time, the primary income shortfall decreased to EUR 0.6 billion from EUR 0.8 billion in September 2024.
Meanwhile, the services surplus moderated to EUR 3.2 billion from EUR 3.6 billion, weighed down by a 3.6% decrease in tourism revenues (EUR 5.6 billion vs EUR 6 billion), while the secondary income deficit expanded to EUR 0.2 billion from EUR 0.1 billion.
For the January-September period, the current account deficit fell by EUR 2.2 billion year-on-year, standing at EUR 7 billion.
