Belgium Industrial Production at -0.80 percent


Industrial production in Belgium shrank 0.8 percent year-on-year in March of 2019, following a downwardly revised 5.9 percent rise in the prior month. It was the largest decline in industrial activity since last September, as output fell for mining & quarrying (-10.2 percent vs 4.1 percent in February); electricity, gas, steam & air conditioning supply (-7.7 percent, the same pace as in the prior month) and water supply (-5.8 percent vs -5.3 percent). At the same time, manufacturing output growth stalled (from 7.6 percent in February). On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial production fell 2.5 percent, after being unchanged in the previous month.
