Bangladesh Inflation Rate Drops to Over 3-Year Low

The annual inflation rate in Bangladesh fell to 8.17% in October 2025 from 8.36% in the previous month, marking the lowest reading since July 2022.
Price growth slowed for food and non-alcoholic beverages (7.08% vs 7.64% vs 7.6% in September), clothing and footwear (13.57% vs 13.90%), restaurants and hotels (10.44% vs 10.96%), and education (8.38% vs 8.71%).
Meanwhile, inflation accelerated for alcoholic beverages, tobacco and narcotics (12.68% vs 12.65%), housing and utilities (7.81% vs 7.63%), furnishings, household equipment and routine maintenance of the house (7.79% vs 7.76%), transport (6.80% vs 6.31%), health (4.09% vs 3.85%), communication (8.41% vs 7.81%), recreation and culture (8.45% vs 8.09%), and miscellaneous goods and services (17.42% vs 16.91%).
On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 1.89%, accelerating from September's 3-month low of 1.05% gain.
