Thailand Manufacturing Sector Hits 9-Month High
Thailand's S&P Global Manufacturing PMI rose to 54.3 in September 2026 from 53.8 in the previous month. It marked the highest reading since December 2025 as output expanded at the fastest pace in nine months amid robust demand conditions. New orders also grew at the strongest rate in six months, supported by successful promotional campaigns and new client acquisitions. Meanwhile, employment levels edged lower, with firms citing natural attrition. On the pricing front, both input cost inflation and output price growth remained modest. Higher raw material expenses, particularly for metals, contributed to the increase in input costs. Lastly, business confidence was little changed from August's seven-month high, as manufacturers remained broadly optimistic that marketing initiatives and sustained demand would support production growth over the coming year.
