Thailand’s exports surged 24.3% yoy to USD 34.6 billion in August 2026, up from 21.6% in July, marking the fastest increase since January but slightly below the 24.9% forecast.
Export growth was mainly driven by a rise in sales of industrial products, which grew 27.1%, marking the 29th consecutive month of growth, mainly boosted by computers and related equipment (42.1%), telephones and components (151.2%), and circuit boards (19.2%).
Meanwhile, shipments of agricultural products rose 4.2%, marking the second straight month of expansion.
Shipments to the US, Thailand’s largest export market, soared 48.7% year-on-year, while those to China and Japan increased 15.5% and 19.6%, respectively.
For the January-August period, exports climbed 18.9% from the same period in 2025, reaching USD 266.2 billion.
In July, the Commerce Ministry maintained its forecast for export growth of 8% this year, supported by easing global tensions and strong tech demand.
