Manufacturing production in the Philippines grew by 4.6% year-on-year in February 2026, accelerating from a downwardly revised 2.6% rise in the previous month.
This marked the fastest growth since July 2024, driven mainly by stronger output for basic metals (21.8% vs -4% in January), which contributed 54.2% to the annual growth of the overall manufacturing sector.
Activity also remained strong in the manufacture of furniture (29% vs 19.9%), while it increased for computer, electronic and optical products (20% vs 22.6%), and leather and related products including footwear (17.2% vs 11.4%).
Conversely, production growth softened notably for transport equipment (0.7% vs 1.5%), and rubber and plastic products (2.6% vs 9.8%), while output declined sharply for basic pharmaceutical products and preparations (-39.8% vs -12.3%).
On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial output fell 0.3% in February, following a 2.7% gain in January.
