The Philippine economy expanded 0.6% quarter-on-quarter in Q2 2026, below market expectations and Q1’s 0.9% growth.
Among the major sectors, agriculture, forestry, and fishing posted the fastest growth at 2.7%, followed by services at 1.3%.
Meanwhile, industry contracted 1.8%, primarily driven by declines in construction and mining and quarrying.
Education; wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles; and public administration and defense were the top contributors to overall GDP growth.
On the expenditure side, household consumption grew 0.8%.
