Palestine Trade Gap Narrows in July

Palestine’s trade deficit narrowed to USD 492.2 million in July 2026 from USD 526.2 million in the corresponding month a year earlier.

Exports jumped 32% year-on-year to USD 208.9 million, driven largely by a 35% increase in sales to Israel, which accounted for 96% of total exports.

In contrast, shipments to other countries fell by 14%.

Meanwhile, imports rose 2% to USD 701.1 million, lifted by a 12% rise in purchases from Israel, which represented 61% of total imports, while exports to other countries dropped by 9%.

In the January–July period, the country’s trade deficit recorded a deficit of USD 3,587.0 million, up from USD 3,236.6 million in the corresponding period last year.

Palestine Trade Gap Widens in June
Palestine’s trade deficit widened to USD 521.3 million in June 2026 from USD 388.4 million in the corresponding month a year earlier. Exports rose 74% year-on-year to USD 213.4 million, supported by a 79% increase in sales to Israel, which accounted for 96% of total exports. Exports to other countries also increased by 6%. Meanwhile, imports climbed 44% to USD 734.7 million, driven by a 63% increase in imports from Israel, which represented 62% of total imports. At the same time, purchases from other countries rose 20%. In January-June, the country’s trade deficit widened to USD 3,094.8 million from USD 2,710.4 million in the corresponding period last year.

Palestine Trade Gap Widens in May
Palestine’s trade deficit widened to USD 526.4 million in May 2026 from USD 455.9 million in the same month a year earlier. Exports increased 25% from a year earlier to USD 193.3 million, driven mainly by a 33% rise in shipments to Israel, which accounted for 96% of total exports. In contrast, exports to other countries decreased by 45%. Meanwhile, imports rose 18% year-on-year to USD 719.7 million. Imports from Israel surged 42% and representing 65% of total imports, while purchases from other countries declined 10% compared with May 2025. Over the January-May period, the trade gap expanded to USD 2,573.5 million from USD 2,322.0 million in the corresponding period of 2025.
