It is the highest inflation rate since August, mainly boosted by prices of food & non-alcoholic beverages (1.77% vs 0.70% in November) and transport (2.93% vs 2.51%). Meanwhile, cost slowed for housing (0.03% vs 0.60%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices decreased 0.18 percent, after a 0.36 percent fall in the prior month.

Palestine GDP Annual Growth Rate at -0.50 percent  
The Palestine economy contracted 0.5 percent year-on-year in the third quarter of 2018, after a 1.3 percent fall in the previous period. It was the second straight contraction in economy, as while private consumption went down (-0.8 percent from 1.2 percent in Q2). In addition, net exports contributed negatively to growth, as export rose by 7.7 percent (from 4.5 percent in Q2) while imports increased at a faster 7.9 (from 4.8 in Q2). On the other hand, fixed investment increased faster (5.1 percent from 3 percent) and government spending continued rebounded (8.5 percent from -8.1 percent in Q2). On a quarterly basis, the GDP expanded 4 percent, following a 0.8 percent contraction in the second quarter.

Palestine Current Account at -444.70 USD Million  
Palestine's current account deficit slightly widened to USD 444.7 million in the third quarter of 2018 from USD 443.7 million in the same period a year earlier, a preliminary result showed. It was the largest current account deficit since the second quarter 2017, as the services account gap rose to USD 265.9 million in Q3 2018 from USD 247.9 million in the same period of 2017. Meantime, the goods account deficit decreased to USD 1,178.9 million from USD 1,254.7 million in Q3 2017. On the other hand, the current transfer surplus increased to USD 467.1 million from USD 417 million in Q3 2017 while the income surplus went up to USD 608.8 million from USD 558.6 million in the same period of 2017.

Industrial production in Palestine was flat compared to a year earlier in November 2018, after a 3.4 percent fall in the previous month. On a monthly basis, industrial output increased 2.4 percent, following a 3.1 percent drop in October, as output of mining & quarrying rebounded (18.4 percent from -12.3 percent). Additionally, production rose for electricity, gas, steam & air conditioning supply (19.5 percent from 2.9 percent) and water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation activities (5.9 percent from 12.5 percent). On the other hand, output continued to decline for manufacturing (-0.1 percent from -3 percent in October).

Producer prices in Palestine increased 2.4 percent year-on-year in November of 2018, accelerating from a 2.3 percent rise in the previous month. On a monthly basis, producer prices fell 1.9 percent, following a 1.2 percent drop in October, as cost declined for electricity, gas, steam & air conditioning supply (-12.16 percent from -7.17 percent in October); agriculture, forestry & fishing (-0.70 percent from 1.40 percent), and mining & quarrying (- 0.12, after a flat reading in the prior month). On the other hand, cost of water supply, sewerage, waste management & remediation continued to rise (1.20 percent from 2.53 percent) while cost of manufacturing rebounded (0.13 percent from -0.86 percent).
