Morocco Sees Consumer Deflation for 4th Month

The consumer price index in Morocco fell by 0.6% year-on-year in February 2026, after a 0.8% decrease in January, marking the fourth consecutive month of deflation.
Prices continued to decline for food & non-alcoholic beverages (-2.2% vs -2.4% in January); transportation (-2.7% vs -2.9%); communication (-0.4% vs -0.4%) and recreation & culture (-0.2% vs -0.4%).
Conversely, the biggest increases were seen for miscellaneous goods & services (3.8%); alcoholic beverages & tobacco (3.7%); restaurants & hotels (2.1%) and education (2.1%).
On a monthly basis, the CPI rose by 0.5% in February, following a 0.3% increase in the prior month.
