Morocco Factory Activity Gains Steam in Q4

Manufacturing production in Morocco rose by 4% year-on-year in Q4 2025, following a 2.2% increase in the previous period.

Output growth was mainly supported by food (+9.9%), pharmaceuticals (+28.9%), metal products (+14.5%), non-metallic minerals (+4.8%), other transport equipment (+37.1%), and tobacco products (+4.7%).

Conversely, declines were seen in automotive (-6.2%), clothing (-4.7%), electronics (-12.6%), electrical equipment (-2.3%), and other manufacturing (-15.4%).

The extractive industries index fell by 4.4%, with miscellaneous extractives down 4.6% and metallic ores up slightly by 0.7%.

Electricity production, meanwhile, rose by 2.8%.

For the full year of 2025, manufacturing activity grew by 4.1%.

Manufacturing production in Morocco rose by 2.2% year-on-year in Q3 2025, slowing from a 7% growth in the previous three-month period, partly reflecting base effects. The main positive contributors were food industries (+11.3%), other non-metallic mineral products (+12.2%), chemical industry (+4.3%), motor vehicles (+7.4%), rubber and plastic products (+16.2%), and other transport equipment (+19.9%). Conversely, declines were seen in tobacco products (-28.4%), pharmaceuticals (-17.3%), metal products, excluding machinery (-6.6%), and metallurgy (-8.0%).

Morocco Factory Output Growth Slows in Q1
Manufacturing production in Morocco rose by 3.2% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2025, following a 5% advance in the previous period. The increase was primarily driven by production growth in several sectors: chemical industry (+8.2%), automobile industry (+12.7%), electrical equipment manufacturing (+24.7%), pharmaceutical industry (+10.6%), non-metallic mineral products (+2.9%), and metallurgy (+14.0%). However, the tobacco products sector dropped by 27.3%, and declines were also seen in metal products (-6.1%), beverages (-5.5%), other transport equipment (-12.1%), and electronics (-5.6%).
