Lebanon Inflation Rate at 7.57 percent  
Lebanon’s annual inflation rate came in at 7.6 percent in July of 2018, unchanged from the previous month’s over-5 year high. Main upward pressure came from housing & utilities (9.3 percent vs 9.0 percent in June); food & non-alcoholic beverages (6 percent vs 5.9 percent); transport (12.9 percent vs 11.9 percent), and restaurants & hotels (3.5 percent from 3.3 percent). Meantime, inflation slowed for: health (5.9 percent vs 6.3 percent); clothing & footwear (14.6 percent vs 16.3 percent); recreation & culture (7.8 percent vs 8.0 percent); miscellaneous goods & services (2.5 percent from 3 percent), and furniture & household equipment (2.9 percent vs 3.9 percent). On the other hand, inflation was steady for: communication (at 1 percent); alcoholic beverages & tobacco (at 2.0 percent), and education (at 4.1 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices went down 0.2 percent from 0.9 percent gain in June.
