Kyrgyzstan Posts 11.1% Economic Expansion in 2025

Kyrgyzstan’s GDP expanded 11.1% year-on-year in January–December 2025, accelerating from 10.2% growth in January–November but moderating from 11.5% recorded in the same period last year.

The expansion was driven by the services sector, which accounts for more than half of the economy, growing 10.9%.

Key contributors included wholesale and retail trade and vehicle repair (+20.9%), transportation and storage (+11.7%), and other service activities (+4.8%).

The production sectors also posted robust growth at 10.9%, contributing 34.4% of GDP, with notable gains in mining (+10.7%), manufacturing (+9.8%), construction (+21.1%), and agriculture (+2.2%).

Meanwhile, net taxes on products rose 12.1% year-on-year, accounting for 14.4% of GDP, further supporting the overall expansion.

Kyrgyzstan GDP Growth Accelerates January–November
Kyrgyzstan’s GDP grew 10.2% year-on-year in January–November 2025, the fastest pace in three months and up from 10.0% for the January–October period. Industrial output increased 10.0% year-on-year, supported by strong gains in pharmaceutical products (up 1.9 times), production of rubber, plastics, and building materials (+34.5%), and production of wood, paper, and printing products (+33.7%). Meanwhile, construction surged 29.0%, wholesale and retail trade rose 9.5%, and agriculture expanded 2.0%.

Kyrgyzstan GDP Growth Slows to 10% in January–September
Kyrgyzstan’s GDP expanded 10.0% year-on-year in January–September 2025, easing from an 11.1% rise in the same period last year and marking the slowest expansion in nine months. Growth was driven by strong performances in commodity production, the service sector, and net taxes on products. Specifically, commodity production rose 11.4%, services increased 9.2%, and net taxes on products grew 9.9%. In terms of GDP composition, services remained the largest contributor at 50.0%, down 1.4 percentage points from a year ago. The share of goods-producing industries rose 2.0 percentage points to 34.7%, with construction up 1.3 percentage points, and industry up 1.1 percentage points, while agriculture’s share declined 0.4 percentage points.
