Kyrgyzstan Industrial Output Contracts in September

Industrial production in Kyrgyzstan climbed by 12.7% year-on-year in November 2025, picking up from a 2.2% increase in October. The acceleration was primarily driven by a sharp rebound in the manufacturing sector (14.9% vs -0.5% in October), particularly in basic metals (16.2% vs -5.3%), food products and tobacco (9.5% vs -6.3%), and coke and refined petroleum products (23.3% vs 4.1%). Meanwhile, output growth slowed in water supply (21.7% vs 24.3%), electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply (2.9% vs 8.9%), and mining and quarrying (1.7% vs 21.6%). For the January–October 2025 period, industrial activity was 10% higher than in the same period a year earlier.

Industrial production in Kyrgyzstan grew by 2.2% year-on-year in October 2025, rebounding from a 5.8% contraction in the previous month. The recovery was driven by higher output for mining and quarrying, which climbed 21.6%, the same pace in September. Production also surged for water supply (24.3% vs 21.3%), while activity declined at a softer pace in the manufacturing sector (-0.5% vs -11.5%). On the other hand, output growth slowed sharply for electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply (8.8% vs 31.1%). For the first ten months of the year, industrial activity was 9.8% higher compared to the corresponding period in the previous year.

Industrial production in Kyrgyzstan fell 5.8% year-on-year in September 2025, marking the first contraction in ten months and reversing from a 13.6% gain in August. The decline was led by manufacturing, which dropped 11.5% compared with an 11.7% increase the previous month, alongside weaker output in mining and quarrying (21.6% vs 23.1%). In contrast, production accelerated in electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply (31.1% vs 18.1%) and water supply (21.3% vs 17.7%). Considering the first nine months of the year, industrial output was 10.2% higher compared to the same period last year.
