Kyrgyzstan Industrial Production at 32.10 percent


Industrial production in Kyrgyzstan grew 32.1 percent year-on-year in November 2018, after a 26.3 percent surge in the previous month. Output continued to rise solidly for manufacturing (35.0 percent vs 33.1 percent in October), mainly the production of computers, electronic and optical equipment (80.3 percent vs -1.2 percent) and basic metals & finished metal products, except machinery & equipment (52.7 percent vs 52.5 percent). Also, gains were registered in electricity, gas, steam & air conditioning supply (21.3 percent vs 3.1 percent) and water supply & waste treatment (22.5 percent vs 26.4 percent). Meantime, activity rebounded in the mining sector (4.9 percent vs -22.5 percent), driven by gains in metal ores (11.4 percent vs -54.8 percent) and extraction of crude oil and natural gas (2.1 percent vs -15.3 percent).

Kyrgyzstan Producer Prices Change at -0.20 percent


Producer prices in Kyrgyzstan went down 0.2 percent year-on-year in December of 2018, following a 0.6 percent fall in the prior month. It is the fifth consecutive decrease in producer prices but the softest since August, as prices fell slightly less for manufacturing (-0.1 percent vs -0.8 percent in November). Meanwhile, cost declined for mining & quarrying (-1.1 percent vs 0.5 percent); water supply (-0.4 percent vs -0.2 percent) and was flat for electricity, gas, steam & air conditioning supply (vs 0.2 percent). On a monthly basis, producer prices rose 0.5 percent, after a 1.5 percent increase in November.

Kyrgyzstan Inflation Rate at 0.50 percent


The annual inflation rate in Kyrgyzstan stood at 0.5 percent in December 2018, unchanged from November, at the lowest level since January 2017. Prices advanced at a slower pace mainly for clothing & footwear (2.5 percent vs 2.8 percent) and transport (3.7 percent vs 5.0 percent). In addition, cost fell for food & non-alcoholic beverages (-2.6 percent, the same pace as in November) and housing & utilities (-0.7 percent vs -2.8 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices went up 0.7 percent, the same pace as in the previous month.
