Kazakhstan GDP Grows 4.8% 2024

Kazakhstan’s GDP expanded by 4.8% for the entire year of 2024, slowing from a 5.1% growth in the previous year.

Output of goods rose by 5.6%, driven by increases in agriculture, forestry and fishing (+13.7%), manufacturing (+5.9%),electricity, gas, steam & air conditioning supply (+4.5%) and construction (+13.1%).

Meanwhile, services output grew 4.7%, led by higher activity in wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (+9.1%), transportation & storage (+8.5%), and information & communication (+5%).

The shares of production of goods and production of services in GDP in January to December 2024 were 35.3% and 58.3%, respectively.

Kazakhstan GDP Posts Strongest Growth Since 2011
Kazakhstan’s economy expanded by 6.5% for the entire year of 2025, accelerating from a 4.8% growth in the previous year. The latest figure marked the strongest expansion since 2011, driven by higher output across both goods and services, which rose by 8.7% and 5.2%, respectively. The shares of goods production and services production in GDP for January–December 2025 were 36.1% and 57.7%, respectively, with the industrial sector alone accounting for the largest share at 26.3%. Within the goods sector, construction posted the highest growth at 15.9%, followed by mining and industry and quarrying at 9.4%, and overall industry at 7.4%. In the services sector, transportation and assembly saw a remarkable 20.4% increase, while wholesale and retail trade, including the repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, grew by 8.9%.

Kazakhstan GDP Growth Rate at 2011-Highs
The economy of Kazakhstan expanded 6.3% year-on-year in January-September 2025, the strongest since 2011, compared to 6.2% in the first half of 2025. Construction recorded the biggest increase (14.9%), followed by mining and quarrying (9.3%), industry (7.3%), agriculture (4.%) and utilities production (2.1%).

Kazakhstan’s economy expanded by 6.2% year-on-year for January - June 2025, marking the fastest growth rate since 2011, accelerating from 5.6% in the first three months of this year. Goods production rose by 8.0%, driven by strong performances in mining (8.4%), manufacturing (5.5%), and construction (18.4%). Meanwhile, the services sector grew by 5.2%, supported by wholesale and retail trade, including motor vehicle and motorcycle repair (8.4%), transport and assembly (22.7%), education (2.5%), financial and insurance activities (1.7%), and real estate services (1.4%).
