Ivory Coast Industrial Production at 5.20 percent  
Industrial output in Ivory Coast rose 5.2 percent year-on-year in September of 2018, higher than a 1.7 percent gain in the previous month. Production rose faster for food and tobacco (14.1 percent from 10.1 percent in August); electricity, gas and water (3.2 percent from 1.3 percent); and textiles and leather (21.9 percent from 11.6 percent); and rebounded for paper (21.6 percent from -6.1 percent). Also, output dropped less for mining (-8.7 percent from -11 percent in August); metallic products (-16.4 percent from -25 percent); and glass, ceramics and construction materials (-0.7 percent from -6 percent). In contrast, production slowed for petroleum, chemicals, rubber and plastics (2.2 percent from 2.5 percent) and wood and furniture (3 percent from 1 percent). On a monthly basis, industrial output jumped 9.3 percent.

Ivory Coast Inflation Rate at 0.50 percent  
The annual inflation rate in Ivory Coast fell to 0.5 percent in September of 2018 from 0.9 percent in the previous month. Prices dropped for food and non-alcoholic beverages (-0.6 percent compared to 1.5 percent in August) and restaurant and hotels (-0.3 percent compared to 0.4 percent). Additionally, cost of housing and utilities slowed (2.2 percent compared to 3.7 percent) and prices declined further for communication (-2.5 percent compared to -2.4 percent) and health (-2.7 percent compared to -1.9 percent). Meanwhile, prices advanced faster for transportation (1.1 percent compared to 0.9 percent); clothing and footwear (1.4 percent compared 1.3 percent) and miscellaneous goods and services (2.0 percent compared to 1.3 percent). Also, cost of furnishings and household equipment rebounded (6.6 percent compared to -3.3 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices went down 0.7 percent, after being unchanged in August.
