Hungary Inflation Steady for 3rd Month

The annual inflation rate in Hungary stood at 4.3% in September 2025, unchanged from the previous two months, slightly below market forecasts of 4.4%.
Prices increased for services (5.9% vs 5.4% in August) and consumer durables (2.5% vs 2.4%).
Meanwhile, inflation eased for food (4.7% vs 5.9%), electricity, gas and other fuels (10.6% vs 11%), and alcoholic beverages and tobacco (7.1% vs 7.3%).
On a monthly basis, consumer prices were unchanged for the second straight month.
Annual core inflation, which excludes volatile items such as food and energy, held steady at 3.9% in September, remaining at its lowest level since August 2021.
