Industrial production in Hungary dropped by 7.3% in August 2025 from a 1% decline in the previous month, preliminary estimates showed.
This marked the fifth consecutive month of declining industrial production and the sharpest downturn since February.
Production volume decreased across most manufacturing subsectors, led by a steep drop in the manufacture of vehicles.
In contrast, output rose for the production of computer, electronic, and optical products.
On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial activity fell by 2.3% in August, reversing a 2% increase in the preceding month.
