Hungary Industrial Output Contraction Confirmed at -1%

Industrial production in Hungary dropped to 1% year-on-year in July 2025, matching preliminary estimates and easing from a 4.9% drop in the previous month.
Production volume decreased at a softer pace for manufacturing (-0.5% vs -5.3% in June), led by the manufacture of computer, electronic, and optical products.
On the other hand, production declined for mining and quarrying (-8.5% vs 5.2%), while it declined further for electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning supply (-7.2% vs -0.1%).
On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial activity grew by 2% in July, recovering from a 1.2% decrease in the preceding period.
Considering the first seven months of the year, industrial output was 3.5% lower compared to the same period a year earlier.
