Hungary's construction output rose by 3.6% year-on-year in May 2025, marking the first growth after eleven consecutive months of declines.
This followed a 0.5% fall in April.
The rebound was largely driven by a strong expansion in civil engineering works, which surged by 26% after a 6.5% rise in April.
In contrast, building construction weakened further, falling by 9.3% following a 5.7% decline in the prior month.
On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, construction output grew by 2.5% in May, slowing from a 5.4% increase in the previous month.
