Greece Retail Sales Tumble in May

Retail sales in Greece tumbled 5.6% year-on-year in May 2025 from an eleven-month high of a 7.4% gain in the previous month.
This marked the first decline since December 2024, as sales slipped notably across all sub-indices: food products (-5.1% vs 12.9%), non-food products (-1.8% vs 6.4%), and automotive fuel (-9.0% vs 4.7%).
On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, retail trade fell 1.7% in May, reversing a 1% gain in the previous month.
