Georgia Trade Gap Narrows in June

Georgia’s trade deficit narrowed to USD 854.5 million in June 2026 from USD 872.2 million in the same month a year earlier.
Exports rose 20.4% to USD 770.8 million, while imports increased 7.5% to USD 1,625.4 million.
In the January–June period, exports climbed 20% year-on-year to USD 3,876.3 million, driven by stronger sales of oil and petroleum products (974.3%), precious metal ores and concentrates (74.3%), and copper ores and concentrates (287.4%).
Among key trading partners, exports increased to China (143%), Armenia (27%), and Turkey (57.3%) Meanwhile, imports edged up 0.7% to USD 9,049.1 million, supported by higher purchases of oil and petroleum products (34.6%), medications (8.5%), and petroleum gases and other hydrocarbons (19.1%).
Imports also rose from Turkey (6.8%), Russia (25.6%), China (22.5%), and Azerbaijan (25%).
The country's trade deficit for the first half of the year narrowed to USD 5,172.9 million from USD 5,757.6 million in the corresponding period of 2025.
