Producer prices in El Salvador rose 1.05% year-on-year in May 2025, the lowest since August, easing from a 1.99% increase in April.
The slowdown was mainly driven by softer price growth in manufacturing (0.33% vs. 0.60%), restaurants and hotels (3.81% vs. 4.53%), communications (0.88% vs. 2.72%), and health (1.99% vs. 2.44%).
On the other hand, water supply utilities (-0.06% vs. -0.22%) prices dipped and utility cost fell sharply (-4.19% vs. 5.71%), contributing further to the deceleration.
On a monthly basis, producer prices slipped 0.1%, reversing a 0.5% gain in April.
