Ecuador Inflation Rate Rebounds from a 4-Year Low

Consumer prices in Ecuador rose by 0.46% year-on-year in April 2025, rebounding from a 0.69% decrease in the previous month, which marked the first annual decline in consumer prices since June 2021.
Utilities recorded the most significant year-on-year increase and rebounded after being in deflationary territory (3.33% vs. -9.64% in May), as well as food and non-alcoholic beverages (0.39% vs. -0.20%), while prices accelerated for hotel and restaurants (1.26% vs. 0.98%).
On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose by 1.03%, accelerating from a 0.27% increase in the previous month.
