Costa Rica Current Account Gap Widens in Q1

Costa Rica’s current account deficit widened to USD 221.8 million in the March quarter of 2025, up from USD 91.3 million in the same period last year.
The primary account deficit grew to USD 2,507 million from USD 2,011 million, while the goods account gap narrowed to USD 576 million from USD 843 million.
Meanwhile, the services account surplus declined to USD 2,659 million from USD 2,571 million, and the secondary account surplus marginally shrank to USD 376 million from USD 381 million.
